Finding Peace In A Frantic World
An 8-week mindfulness course grounded in decades of research at the University of Oxford. Practical tools for Singapore's busy professionals, learn to carry the weight of life differently.
ABOUT THE COURSE
Beyond stress management
Finding Peace in a Frantic World is a programme and book created by Professor Mark Williams (University of Oxford) and Dr Danny Penman. Drawing on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), which merges ancient meditation techniques with modern clinical psychology. It gives you practical, research-backed skills to break cycles of stress, anxiety, and exhaustion, and carry them into everyday life.
The Goal
To help you step out of "automatic pilot" - recognising negative thought patterns before they spiral, and building the mental habits that lead to a calmer, more resilient life.
The programme is the direct result of over 30 years of clinical research by Professor Mark Williams and colleagues at the University of Oxford, in collaboration with colleagues at Cambridge and the University of Toronto. It continues to be used in active research today, including the MYRIAD project at Oxford, which studied its impact on thousands of students and teachers.
Its approach has been recognised by the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as an effective tool for preventing depression and managing stress.
